No need to travel out of town for this specialized treatment when you can receive it from our wonderful Occupational Therapy Department!
So, what is lymphedema!?
Lymphedema is caused by the accumulation of lymph fluid tissues beneath the skin. This can occur anywhere in he body but is mainly seen in the arms or legs. Some symptoms may include a heavy feeling in the arm or leg; swelling, tight sensation, and/or decreased flexibility in your chest/breast, arm, hand, leg, face or neck; shirt sleeves, shoes or jewelry that feel tight; skin that may "pit" with any finger pressure.
To receive Lymphedema Management Services, first contact your primary care physician for the diagnosis of lymphedema and ordering of OT services. Then call (937) 593-0822 to schedule your occupational therapy evaluation at the Mary Rutan Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Center.
